It’s time to do what I’ve been planning for a long time. Start writing my thoughts and sharing them with the world.

#1 learning: Action-oriented communication.

In a startup environment, to be and become an effective communicator and colleague, action-oriented communication is a key to success. Avoid open-ended questions but use specific suggestions, where the answer can be yes or no. Here is one example:

❌ We should refresh our website slogan; what should I add there?

✅ I will update our website slogan, is “Just do it” ok for you?

Also, remember to discuss the best ways to communicate with your team; people have different preferences for effective communication.
